Honest Fox Fall 2025 Trend Predictions Pt. 1

It's that time; the leaves are changing, the air is crisping, and the Winter clothes are coming out of storage. In the wake of fashion week, it can be tempting to rush out and throw down money on the newest fast Fall fashions. But, if there's anything we learned from this season's designer runway roundups, it's that trends come around. We're seeing prints on prints this year; wide cut taupes, color blocking--it's a decade menagerie mashup on these 2025 runways. While there are some hot, funky, fresh things happening in couture society this year, we decided to recycle what we saw on the catwalk with these fresh secondhand items from the latest Honest Fox inventory. Here is the first iteration of our prediction series.

Taupe Textures

2025 was Pantone's Mocha Mousse year. And from what we saw trending in local and global fashion shows this week was a warm swirl of earthy, rich, taupe textures. Taupe is having a moment, it seems. And before you say "taupe? For Autumn? Groundbreaking," let's breakdown what's different about the 2025 apparition of this classic color.

"Taupe" comes from the Old French word for "mole," referring to the soft grayish-brown color of these fuzzy little cuties. Moles are blind mammals who live their lives in darkness, tunnelling underground, guided by their little pig snoot. While we're sure there is a metaphor for modern times that can be found somewhere in this and a connection to how fashion, as art, imitates life--we digress.

Texture is key with this year's earth tones. Knits should be chunky, pants should have feel, leather bags should be pebbled. Nothing says sophistication like a clean neutral earth tone, and the added element of tactile interest makes Fall 2025's Mocha Mousse a true moment in fashion time.

Fine, earth tones are back. But what makes the Mocha Mousse moment special? What gives it that 2025 je ne sais quoi?
